I'll Huff And I'll Puff

Guess what was delivered to my door last night by a very bubbly and cutesy santa's lil helper coussie?

Okay okay I wrote that wrongly on the pic wtf papa beard. It's Beard Papa's fresh and natural cream puffs! Oh how satisfying it was to shove it crudely into my face with all the rich cream oozing out from the sides, slurrps. I think I finished my share in like seconds hahaha, I'm such a glut! Bidbadwolf loved it too, I think it was his virgin puff too haha. He ate all the strawberry ones while I ate the normal custard ones.

Thanks for the little treat yenyen, it meant alot to the fatass pig in me wahahaha!

Curry Puffs

Quite some time ago, I mentioned that I was planning to make curry puffs over the weekend as I was craving for some, turned out I really did. I think I'm just too in love with asian cousines! I went grocery shopping to make sure that I had all the ingredients a few days before. I couldn't find the round pastry skin so I ended up with triangular puffs instead hehe.

Chicken thigh, check. Potatoes, check. Curry leaves, check. Onions. check. Garlic, check. Pastry skin, check. Sauce, check. Spices, check. For some reason the potatoes here in oz always stick to the non-stick pan no matter how hot the oil is. -_-" Anyone care to enlighten me why?

I spent a good half a day working on the puffs, and hours later tadahh, it was all finally good and ready to disappear into my tummy haha. The skin was pretty flaky and nice, but I decided that the curry wasn't spicy enough. I'll have to make a note to myself to put in more spices the next time I make them again.

Here are some summarized visuals of the whole process.

This bit took a while, scooping, folding and kneading. I ended up with quite a few trays. Please ignore that shapeless piece of dough in the right picture. That was the creation of bigbadwolf. -_-" I really didn't know what he was trying to make haha. I got bored and decided to make some heart shaped curry puffs, while bigbadwolf played around with the rectangular shapes.

After all the hardwork, it was finally time to enter the oven! Phew. I had to do this over and over again since my oven could only fit two trays at one go.

Wahoo, golden brown at last! I left them to cool for abit before packing them up into different containers. These were delivered to all my lovers out there....not. I gave them to some family and friends. ;p

Teehee, that was how the heart shaped curry puff turned out in the end. Not too bad I guess! That's devilishaz trying hard not to add watery ingredients into the curry puffs, haha. I was sooo hungry, I can't believe I skipped dinner just to finish making all these!

The great tower of curry puffs.

The end.

There you have it, my first curry puff experience actually haha. Hopefully I'll learn to make prettier ones next time! Till then, I better nurse my sore throat for now. No spicy food allowed for now. T_T

Thanks Lizzie!

Last weekend was a funfilled and relaxing one. What a long weekend since it was a public holiday the following Monday as it was the Queen's birthday. All hail queen lizzie! On Friday night, we went out for dinner since Ashley baby was leaving us for her holidays in Beijing the next day. How lucky! We went for hotpot at Antarctic Circle and then our weekly drinking at Echoes after. As usual, we were really loud, and tipsy happy haha.

The next day was alot more relaxing. I lazed around at home, went out to eat with a friend whom we haven't seen in ages at little taipei. It was great catching up and seeing you again gurl. Went next door to eat dinner and then curled up in front of cable tv and fell asleep at gasp, eleven o'clock!

I woke up the next day at around ten, got ready and we left on our way to sunny gold coast. I was expecting it to be really cold since it had been raining the whole of last week but to my surprise, the weather was perfectly fine. It was cool and breezy, not necessary for a thick jacket at all.

Bigbadwolf and I went to surfers paradise first where I went to the circle of cavill to check out my MNG hehehe. I didn't see anything I like except for a suit for work. I dunno how, but bigbadwolf always manage to talk me out of buying something. -_-" I told him I couldn't go all the way to gc for mng and not buy anything at all. That just doesn't make any sense! But he managed to convince me to go to harbour town after, and I came back home with plenty of trench coats and a long sleeve collared top for work thanks to the end of financial year sales tee hee. That sure spelt satisfaction for me. ;D

We also went to check out on my birthday pressie from bigbadwolf at surfers 'cept I couldn't make up my mind with what size I wanted to get so I delayed it again. I'm still thinking. Big or small? Big or small? Ahh.... the things you can worry about in life.

Jupiters casino was just a stone throw away so how could we not stop by to try our luck? Temptation was too strong since we haven't stepped into a casino for a long time now. We ended up winning just on pokies so shopping, food, and everything we spent that night was for free, wahoo! I wish times like these could go on forever, it's so much easier on the pocket for a shopaholic grins.

We went to Hog's breath cafe after our productive session for some steak and dayam, things are gonna get nasty now. We were told that the wait was just going to be fifteen minutes and was brought to the bar for some drinks. Fifteen minutes turned to half an hour, then forty five minutes, then finally we were brought to a table. The waitress serving us only then mentioned that the prime beef was all gone for the night as they ran out ages ago, so the only option we had was just the normal steak.

We groaned in agony and settled for less since we've already waited for so long, our tummy was crying outloud. The food only came out half an hour later and by then, boi were we hungry! Along came a bunch of tipsy agro delinquents and they started making a big fuss of not having prime beef and that whoever paid to eat the normal steak for the same price are such turds. -_-

They were just sitting opposite us so it got really loud when they were giving all of us a bloody hard time. It was already bad enough. They sat there drinking champagne and cocktails, and shouting and cursing the whole night. Growl! Obviously we wouldn't feel good since we had to pay the same price but how is that going to help? We were given a choice of staying to eat (not that it was much of a choice since we've already waited for so gawd damn long) or leave straightaway. But we stayed, and you did too so shut up and just eat already! If you feel so deep about it, then just leave, geez.

After we finished our food, we went to pay at the counter, and the same bunch of rowdy boys were still chucking a shit there. All of us had to wait another fifteen minutes just to pay for our food. That did it, we're never going back to eat at Hog's breath cafe again. It was my bad since bigbadwolf wanted to eat buffet at the casino and I felt like steak at Surfers. Boohoo, sorry bubi!

We drove back after all the hoohas, and joined the crew for some drinks and singing therapy again. Ooo, you know how we always drink hahn ice beer with sour plums? Now if you add lemon with it, it will taste even better! Not many people like it but for the rest that has tried, we're officially hooked. :p

Okay I think I've been blabbering on for too long. For the last day of the long weekend, kanny, yennie and I went for grocery shopping to buy everything that was needed for the korean bbq. We ended up buying too much that we didn't dare to defrost the others. It was fantastic since I bought two big plates of ox tongue and that really settled all the cravings I had for korean bbq. Yennie was playing around with the frozen ox tongues and oyster blades, handling them like chips on a casino table while we were preparing bwahaha. See what the cooks get up to behind the kitchen! No la, our hands were very clean. :p

Here are some visuals so I can shut up for now hehe, enjoy!

I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream for Ice Cream

Last Wednesday, we finally caught hold of the ice cream truck after weeks of waiting impatiently for it. It only comes every fortnight and for some reason we always manage to miss it, argh.

They sell homemade ice creams, and our all-time favourite is the natural bowen mango bar. Bigbadwolf and I were at the midst of wrestling each other for the loo when we both paused to hear the ringing sound of the ice cream truck. Without asking, he ran upstairs for the wallet, chucked it down, and I rushed out of the house bare feet running like a psycho biatch towards the ice cream truck. It's about time we got hold of the ice cream man.

The ice cream man was just about to leave! Phew. If we had missed him again I would've been so cut. I bought three whole boxes just so I’d have enough supply if I ever miss it again, hahaha. It’s really that good. I even forgot I had to wee wee haha.

3 boxes = 60 mango ice creams = satisfaction.

It’s a good thing we caught the ice cream man this time, I definitely needed all that ice cream for the long weekend.

xx

It's Labour day today woohoo, that gives us an extra day of pure relaxation. I feel like swimming but I'm so lazy to leave the house. I want to watch Spiderman 3 but I'm so lazy to leave the house. I feel like Antarctic Circle's hotpot but I'm so lazy to leave the house. Oh dear, what am I going to do with myself.

Last weekend was pretty packed. Ruby came back for the weekend to celebrate her boi's birthday, my Sydney cousin, Steph and her boyfriend Taro came over for the weekend as well for a friends wedding. We practically ate out for the whole weekend. So much for trying to be health conscious hey. -_-"

Oh damnit. I just ran out of Optus dial up credit. We can't get ADSL2 due to some pair gain line connection we have for our house, damnit! Need.adsl.at.home. growl!! Will do something about it soon. Okay I'll post this up when I go next door since I gotta help bigbadwolf send something out, see ya later alligator!

Hi Cupcake!

This post was written on thursday night. Didn't get to posting it since I wrote this half way and fell asleep. -_-"

I know I haven't been updating for awhile now. Work is eating into my leisure time, now I really cherish all the free times I had lazing at home, hanging out with the girls, drinking like there's no tomorrow and just doing absolutely nothing at all. Weekend is coming soon yippee, that’ll be a good rest from my early mornings and bed time curfews I've set for myself. Shireen’s like, “sis, you’re sleeping so much earlier compared to me!” I can’t help it, I really need my sleep to be entirely energized the next day. :p

I usually sleep at around 10.30pm and wake up at 7am. Everything is such a routine now. It’s working time from morning till the evening, a refreshing shower and then dinner time when I get back home, lazing and watching telly after, then it’s bed time again already. 0_0 Time sure passes by so quickly.

There goes all the post office, banking and everything else you can only do during working time. I still haven’t applied for my debit card! It’s so inconvenient not having a card you can use online. Work has been great, everyone is so nice and extremely helpful. I feel more at ease now although I’ve still got so much to learn and catch up on. Ah, I have faith!

xx

As it was Anzac day last wednesday, Bigbadwolf and I went to the city for barbeque with the girls and boys. It was at Francis and Dan's cousin's apartment. The barbeque area was really big, and it was next to the swimming pools. We had the place booked till 4pm but ended up leaving at 5 instead haha. Francis' mom makes really scrumptious food. What can I say, she's malaysian so it ain't no wonder hahaha. We had hokkien mee and beehun, kish, bbq chicken etc and jelly and fruits. After the bbq, we headed back to their apartment to hang around for abit before we left. I had to leave early since I had work the next day. The others all stayed for more fun boohoo!

Janet, Cathy, Rachel and I. Everyone else was in the room.

xx

Last night I fell asleep after dinner when I was suppose to go for coffee with Sally, Fiona and Ling. -_-" Hope you girls didn't have too much fun without me hehe. I woke up later to get ready to go to Echoes with the cousins and some friends. Woohoo, weekend bliss. And guess what?

Not enough sleep + fatigue + alcohol = getting dizzy pretty quickly

I've still got three more cartons of clothes to unpack. I feel so lazy aiya. My Sydney cousins are coming next weekend so oh man, I've got to drag my sorry ass and spring clean, clear away the cartons that are still sitting in the upstairs living room and clear out my wardrobe. Somebody, come help the baby!

xx

I declare today as cuppycake day! I've been dying to eat some cakes for awhile now and thought I'd bake some instead. We went for our usual weekly grocery shopping and I bought everything that was needed. It only took about an hour or so and then taadah, all done! I know I'm so childish, I topped it up with chocolate fudge and fairy sprinkles hahaha. Yumm tumms.

Cuppycakes left to cool & Bigbadwolf chowing down. The cupcake looks soo tiny next to bigbadwolf! Thanks for the occasional brekky and preparing my everyday lunch box without complaints. :) Here's a lil silly treat for you cupcake sweetie poo, mwah! Y

Wee... I'm done for the day. My turn to go gobble down some now, see ya!

Salmon Overdose

As we left on our journey back home from Queenstown to Christchurch, I felt really bored and restless sitting in the car for so long, bum bum so sore la, hehehe. Thankfully just as we were about to make a pit stop for some fresh air, we chanced upon a sign that read, “Salmons sold here”. Woohoo, awesome baby! We quickly made a u-turn and stopped by to have a look.

It turned out to be a Salmon farm where they reared freshwater salmons. I got pretty excited knowing the fact that we’d be having our own supply of salmon sashimis at home that could last us for quite abit. They were so cheap too compared to the ones that were sold in the supermarket. It was around twelve dollars ninety cents per kilo for one whole fish, alot dearer if you wanted them to cut it for you of course.

Apparently, the salmon farm began by collecting eggs and milt from captive broodstock, incubating the fertilised eggs in a freshwater hatchery, and rearing the newly hatched fry for a further six to twelve months. The young smolts are then transferred to larger cages or ponds where they are reared for the remainder of their lives. Fish remain there in captivity for two to three years, and are typically harvested at weights of between 2 and 4 kg.

Here are some pictures of the salmon farm.

Yumm tumms. So fresh and tantalising! Who wants some? Tease tease. :p

We were even allowed to feed the salmons. It was pretty hard to take pictures of them coming up for their food, they were so quick! Here's my closest attempt to capture a shot of it. That's the friendly lady packing our salmons. salivates.

What a glorious day it turned out to be. We got home and gorged ourselves silly with lotsa salmon sashimis, hahaha. After a few days of continuous feasting, I kinda got sick of it though, because we also made salmon fish head soup, cooked salmon fillets, had smoked salmon, it was pretty much salmon everything! But now... ooh boi, pass me s'more of that salmon sashimi please! :P

No photo, no photo!

Boohoo. Today we decided to head to another korean restaurant to try their korean bbq, and they ran out of ox tongue. -_-" That's no biggie. After I took some photos of what we ordered, the korean lady stared daggers at me, and said sternly, "No photo! No photo!" So I said alright. I mentioned that there weren't any no camera signs and it was just all for fun. I asked her why she was so uptight about it but she refused to answer, still screaming, "No photo! No photo!"

She was still staring at me real angrily after quite some time. It kinda shocked me so I said, "Okay, you know what, do you want me to delete them?" And I did so without waiting for her reply. She watched me like a hawk on its prey making sure that I deleted all the photos. Of course I would, like it really was that important, but woman, its just freaking korean food. No big deal aight. She killed my mood and made me lose my appetite, gee. Then some of her korean friends came in and she started blabbering non stop in that annoying tone. Oh well, we tried to ignore it.

The food wasn't too awesome though, they marinated the meat with too much sesame oil and sugar, and they made sure that they cooked it for us and didn't allow us to touch the meat! O_O Lighten up sweetie, it's just korean bbq for fucks sake! -_-" Not happy. I'm definately never going back there again.

Bigbadwolf smirked and commented that she was probably worried that we'd send it to the board of health or something. What the hell yo. We decided to settle with the fact that her hubby prolly left her and she found out her daughter ran off with her boyfriend so yeah, we forgave her, heh heh heh! I swear it isn't the cask of redwine that's making me bitchy.

Growl!!! Watch it bitches, I'm gonna get you!

DIY Roti Canai

The other day while we were shopping for grocery, I was scanning the shop desperately trying to find anything close to roti canai and the only thing that came close was turkish bread and pastry skin. -_-" I guess I should've just tried the chinese grocery shops eh. I went to some taiwanese ones but couldn't find any either!

In the end we decided to make some ourselves. See what Malaysian food does to you, ooh how I miss Malaysian food! Someone should set up a mamak stall over here man.

So much hassle just for roti canai, if I was in Malaysia, I'll just pop over at Sriga, the mamak stall I always go to for yummy roti canai, fish curry and tandoori chicken. Ooh, and my favourite teh o ais limau, thats ice lime tea! :p All for less then five bucks? Hahaha.

It's so hard to fry roti canai with an electronic stove, adjustment of the heat takes awhile, and it burns easily. After some trial and error, I figured out that butter had to go on top so that it doesnt end up turning black, and that heat had to be at its very very lowest.

Bigbadwolf decided that we should have some roti milo too hehehe, it turned out pretty good! I forgot to take a pic of that because we rushed to eat it while it was hot. He loves Malaysian food now!

Knead knead, roll roll, cook cook, tadaah!

Chicken curry to go with it! We got hungry later at night and made some pizzas too yum, there can never be too much cheese on pizzas! Bigbadwolf couldn't even look after the oven for over ten minutes, and it got too hot on the left side, hence the burn. -_-" Boys. He went to watch Death Note 2 and got carried away. :p What was I doing? Hehehe, eating more roti canai of course!

My Valentines

I see you've all had a great one on valentines day hey, hahaha. Mine was just sweet and simple. :) When the clock struck twelve, we were in the car driving off for a drinking session with a bunch of friends. I left my camera at home bugga, so no piccies. I might have to wait for one of the girl's to send me photos from theirs. I met quite a few who I've bonded with rather quickly, thanks to our dear old alcohol.

It was a crazy night where everyone ended drunk. We had submarines, except ours was with soju! Then we also had rasberry wine and plum wine and lotsa beers. I think Christina, a korean girl, and I were the only ones left that were still conscious. Then there were plenty of arm wrestling that followed for the boys while we were just blabbering and laughing away. Sadly one of them was leaving the day after to Shanghai to pick up on his mandarin for a year. It was good meeting everyone though, they are all really amiable and very nice.

The next day, we went off to Choi's for korean bbq again, this time in one of the rooms. It's so addictive haha. We had ribeye steak, ox tongue as usual, and some salted pork. There were the usual side dishes and soup. After dinner we headed off to the cinemas.

Sadly, by the time we got there it was nine, and most of the movies had already begun. Damnit, didn't get to watch the persuit of happyness again, growl. So we went off for some coffee and cakes at Coffeeculture. A friend called to ask if we wanted to go to the harbour but we declined as we were too stuffed to do anything else hahaha. oinks!
