Strike Bowling Bar / Mercury
Last Sunday, I went to my friend, Jimmy’s 21st birthday party at Strike Bowling Bar in the city and whoa… the design of the place is fantastic! Located on level three of Wintergarden - Queen Street mall, Strike is a multi faceted bowling entertainment venue consisting of 6 public glow in the dark bowling lanes, and 4 private lanes with an exclusive lounge. There is also a multimedia conference room, bar, lounge, pool tables, games and karaoke facilities. It is incorporated with a high-end audio visual system of six video projectors, 30 plasma LCD flat screen monitors which shows music video and other contents. I thought that the interior design of the place was very sophisticated and innovative!
The only thing I’d complain about would probably be the atmosphere of the place. Maybe I’m biased because I spent most of the time upstairs in one of the private lounge where the birthday bash was held. They had a mini bar in the room too, and the birthday boy provided free flow of beer and basic spirits limited to only five hundred dollars after which, we would have to pay for the excess if we wanted any more. Obviously there were heaps of people there so yeah, I had to pay for my own drinks after two coronas, one belgium beer, one vodka lime and some midori.
Fiona and I decided to buy the birthday boy a flaming lamborghini since he downed quite a few drinks but still wasn’t hammered. His world turned sexy after that drink, because he kept telling everyone and everything that everybody was so sexy and hot. Hehehe... mission accomplished!

We decided to have some ourselves too… hehe, so yeah, two more flaming lamborghini and then another bacardi 151 each. When it turned 12, we all left Strike to go to the dance party at Mercury and man, it was so packed! We met alot of people we knew, and we drank and danced and drank and danced the night away. Thank god it was a public holiday the next day, otherwise I bet I wouldn’t have been able to wake up in time for class!
