Taiwan II
Their engagement party was an extravagant one, but the food served was vegetarian due to superstitious reasons. Apparently, one is not allowed to serve meat as this would imply that many lives have been killed just for the celebration of one's engagement. This would bring bad karma to the couple, hence the vegetarian dishes.
The groom and his side of the family would also have to leave the party after most of the dishes have been served, and they must leave very suddenly without exchanging words of appreciation or farewell, as farewell means the end to the couple's relationship, which is a big no-no. There are many more, these are just a few examples so that you guys get the drift.
Traditional tea session. This is to allow the groom and the bride to know how to greet both sides of the family and pay their respects.

Old Brissie friends. April and Stephen are currently working in Taiwan and Christine is an Air stewardess.
Wee. Drink up! All of us had orang juice, whilst the couple had tea due to the overdose of booze from the night before. I know, bad mistake!
Hahaha, this picture was taken by April after all the guests had left. Talk about going all out a la natural! We were like, now this is the normal Joyce we know! Hahaha.
After the engagement party, all of us went to Partyworld, a reknown karaoke place in Taipei. All of us were exhausted but who could resist alcohol? Pics will be up on the next post! Till then, I gotta catch up on an assignment that's going to be due in two weeks time. Online studies can be quite dangerous, you tend to forget you're still studying haha. Wish me luck peeps!
