Florence's Farewell

Due to personal reasons and unforeseen circumstances, one of my housemates has decided to leave us, leave her partner, and leave Brisbane altogether. She was back last week and stayed for only five days. Within those five days, she's packed everything she owned, thrown everything she didn't need, and sold her car for quite a good price. Talk about efficiency eh.

If I were her, I don't think I'd be able to throw all my memorable and precious stuff away, nor would I have enough luggages to finish packing. Most importantly, I don't think I would have had the determination and strength to leave my other half just like that. Like I said, they have their reasons so I do not know why. All I know is that they have a mutual agreement and I respect their decisions.

Which brings me to another topic. Sometimes it may be deemed as selfish for someone to think for themselves, but if you were to look at the situation from a different perspective, being selfish is the only way to achieve everything you want thoroughly. Sure, you may argue that people can always work together to achieve what they both want, but in reality, compromising also means giving and taking, which means giving in to something you do not necessarily adhere to.

To tell you the truth, I quite admire people who are capable of being this way, because I for one do not have that kind of strength, determination, independence, and right mind to see things from this angle. Remember, the key words are looking at it from another angle. We can deny that being attached doesn't always limit the things we want to do in life, but seriously I reckon it does. That's because a typical she may start making plans for her future, but she would only reach out and make plans that would go only as far as just before the border that would separate him and her. That may not be the case but you get my drift.

Okay, I think I'm blabbering again and going off topic! Before my housemate left, all of us gathered in Newway Karaoke for our last drinking session together. It'll be alright for me as I can still see her in Malaysia whenever I have holidays. I am happy for her and hope everything goes well in the path she has chosen to take.

Here are some pictures from the night we bade farewell. Mwah, hang in there girl! See you when I go to Malaysia again!
