The Lion Sleeps Tonight
It pitter pattered continuously for the rest of the dark till now.
So cold, so gloomy, so perfect to snooze in,
not one bit, fit for work.
I try to keep from being reckless,
on slippery roads I drive.
Green, yellow, then red.
Red, then green,
then red in a split second.
When is anything ever green light throughout?
I accidentally tune in to classic fm,
and the opera sings to her heart's content,
working in collaboration with the sound of the rain,
that drown away the thoughts in my head.
On tippy toes, I staggered for the building,
a bag on my shoulder to free my two hands,
one hand on the laptop on top of my head,
I try to shield me from the rain.
With my free hand I pull onto my pants,
away from muddy water, away from the dirt.
The alarm rings as I walk into the dark,
I head to my corner to seat myself.
Dropped everything,
and turned on the gadgets,
I walk towards the ladies to dry myself.
My heels on tiles, my pace quickening,
I find a familiar rhythm playing through my head.
My footsteps they seem
to be echoing...
A wimbo wa, a wimbo weh, a wimbo wa a wimbo weh.
Ahh.. wtf, it's the lion king song!!!
A wimbo wa, a wimbo weh, a wimbo wa a wimbo weh.
In the jungle the mighty jungle the lion sleeps tonight...
How did that happen man. I swear it really does sound like it!
Try to listen when you're walking on tiles, your footsteps echoing through the corridor.
The footsteps will go, a wimba wa, a wimba weh a wimbo wa..
Okay, I think I'm officially nuts. -_-"
